Purchasing Manager

- Directly supervise Buyers in the procurement and on-time delivery of components including direct-buy, repairs, and value-add services to consign inventory.
- Coordinate Buyers for the consigned inventory process including requesting/tracking inventory to be picked and shipped, purchasing of the value-add service, managing delivery timing in work orders, and tracking and disposition of scrap at suppliers.
- Lead Buyers in coordinating suppliers in the re-work or commercial recovery of nonconforming products.
- Maintain Purchasing (PR) procedures to ensure quality of standard work and to improve efficiency for the procurement team.
- Forecasting procurement cashflow based on accurate open POs maintenance.
- Management of the inputs to the Part Approval process to link an existing supplier to a part.
- Foster strong relationships with leadership at the supply base.
- Develops and implements a Purchasing strategy that aligns with the sourcing function strategy to drive benefits for procurement.
- Develop talent within the Purchasing team.
- Contributes to vendor selection and supports the supplier development process.
- Ability to interface effectively with manufacturing, engineering, finance, and program management functions with a strong customer satisfaction mindset.
REQUIRED:
- Bachelor’s Degree or 5 to 10 years of applicable professional experience in procurement.
- 5 to 7 years of procurement experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Minimum of 3 years managerial or supervisory experience in procurement or manufacturing.
- Thoroughly familiar with business processes related to purchase order processing.
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems, Dynamics Business Central, or equivalent.
- Familiarity with standard terms and conditions in supplier relationships.
- Detail oriented, diligent, and well organized.
- Demonstrated self-starter with ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- US Citizen or permanent resident status required
DESIRED:
- Experience with bills of material, source control, technical drawings, and manufacturing of industrial products and services.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes (i.e. fabrication, castings, forgings, machining, special processes etc.).
- Experience negotiating efficient and cost-effective recoveries with suppliers.
- Ability to independently perform financial analysis and justifications to leadership.
- Familiarity with aero-derivative gas turbine components.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to travel 20%.
