The Controls & Accessories Engineer functions as a significant contributor and subject matter expert within Vericor’s Engineering team. The ideal candidate will leverage prior education & experience to continuously improve Vericor’s portfolio of aeroderivative gas turbine engines. The position’s domain of responsibility will be in the design & development of electrical sub-systems, controls systems and application usage of Vericor’s gas turbines. The position also requires the candidate to be adept at troubleshooting electrical & control systems in the factory, test cells, and at field installations

The position’s domain of responsibility will be in the design & development of electrical sub-systems, controls systems and application usage of Vericor’s gas turbines. The position also requires the candidate to be adept at troubleshooting electrical & control systems in the factory, test cells, and at field installations
Overview and Key Responsibilities
• Lead the design, development and qualification of new controls projects for gas turbines.
• Responsible for software changes per requirements, data management, documentation and software validation.
• Work in Matlab/Simulink and CoDeSys environment for engines & test code creation & debugging. Ability to understand signal conditioning & modulation techniques desired.
• Provide technical support for fielded engines relating to operational issues. This includes performing Root Cause and Corrective Action tasks, developing and implementing technical
solutions aimed at Customer satisfaction.
• Provide operational support during in-house turbine testing, start-up, and commissioning phase for industrial turbines.
• Work hands on in the engine test cell diagnosing engine behavior and analyzing data as required for support of new & fleet gas turbines testing.
• Develop existing & new Smart instrumentation from concept to integration to testing & validation for future turbine enhancements or engine models.

- BS or MS in Mechanical, Electrical or Aerospace Engineering.
- 4 to 7 years of experience, preferably with Gas Turbine Engines
- Experience with PLC/DCS structured text programming is desired. Programming experience with Wago & Allen Bradley PLCs would be a plus.
- Experience with Power BI, IOT, MS Azure, Simantic modelling, SQL database, Cloud services & basic wireless networking would be a plus.
- Experience with mobile / trailer mounted gas turbine or reciprocating generator sets is a plus. Familiarity with generator electrical systems including motor control centers, circuit breakers, power conductors, instrumentation, etc.
- In accordance with US Export Control requirements, US Citizenship or permanent resident status is required.
- <25% travel focused on field support
